ABOUT THIS ROLE
As our full-time Child Welfare Legal Assistant, you'll navigate the full lifecycle of child welfare cases, from receiving affidavits and opening files to preparing petitions, subpoenas, exhibits, and discovery. You'll manage Odyssey filings, coordinate hearings with attorneys and court personnel, communicate with clients and defense counsel, organize trial materials, ensure accurate documentation, and provide essential in‑court support to attorneys.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A CHILD WELFARE LEGAL ASSISTANT
You might be perfect for this position if you can meet the following qualifications:
- Paralegal degree or certificate (or similar work experience in a law office)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Odyssey, and Adobe Pro
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent office skills: filing, copying, phones, scanning, ability to work with clients and witnesses
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
- Notary eligible
At least two years of college in a legal field and two years of experience, with experience able to substitute for education, are preferred.
