Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join a growing construction organization on a 3-6 month contract basis. This role will support financial operations across multiple projects and business units, ensuring accurate reporting, project accounting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry and hands-on experience with WIP accounting, month-end close processes, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee monthly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and related project financial reporting.
- Analyze project performance, costs, and profitability against estimates and forecasts.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide insights to operations and leadership teams.
- Review project estimates, budgets, and cost projections to ensure financial accuracy.
- Partner with project managers and operational leaders to monitor project financial performance.
- Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and industry best practices.
- Support process improvements and financial controls related to project accounting and reporting.

Qualifications
\n

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 5-7 years of accounting or finance experience within the construction industry required.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting
- Percentage-of-completion accounting
- Month-end close processes
- Variance analysis
- Project estimates and forecasting
- Experience partnering with project management and operations teams.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
- Ability to work independently and quickly become productive in a fast-paced environment.
