Senior Collection Coordinator
Job Description
Global law firm located in NYC seeks a highly organized, experienced, and proactive Senior Collection Coordinator to join our US Office Business Finance/Accounting team.. This role plays a critical part in driving cash collections, monitor aging of client receivables and supporting partners and clients across the US region. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, exceptional follow-up discipline, and experience in professional services/law firm collection programs. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to a high performing Business Finance team within the global organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a personal portfolio of client accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.
- Partner closely with billing attorneys and practice groups to execute proactive follow-ups and identify payment issue.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding payment status, invoice inquiries, and account reconciliations.
- Track, monitor, and report on collection progress, aging, and expected cash receipts.
- Preparation of client analysis, reconciliations, and realization schedules to aid in collection of invoices.
- Identify collection risks early and escalate as appropriate with Head of Revenue .
- Support month-end cash forecasting and collection initiatives, including year-end campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records in the firm’s financial systems (Aderant/Elite/3E or similar).
- Assist with process improvements to strengthen the firm’s collections platforms.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of collections experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of billing, receivables, and cash application workflows.
- Excellent communication, diplomacy, and client service skills.
- Ability to build relationships with attorneys, clients, and cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail with strong Excel and financial systems skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Compensation
Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000, dependent upon experience level.
