We are looking for a Legal Assistant/Secretary with experience having worked directly for Family Law attorneys.
The Legal Assistant will have the opportunity to support the attorneys to enhance the office’s effectiveness by handling the following responsibilities:
- Assist with screening and directing incoming calls
- Communicate with potential new clients and existing clients
- Manage attorney calendar by scheduling and monitoring deadlines
- Professionally and effectively communicate with clients, law offices, and courts, both verbally and electronically
- Timely and accurate update of client systems
- Create, organize and maintain files, both hard copies and electronic files on company's case management system
- Make copies, scan documents and prepare outgoing mail packages
- Format and process key legal documents
- Familiarity with the Judiciary Electronic Document Submission (JEDS) and capability of filing documents
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of legal administrative assistant experience as a Family Law legal assistant is required
- Familiarity with New Jersey e-courts
- Computer literacy/proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Adobe
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while consistently delivering excellent, quality work
- Strong work ethic and ability as a self-starter
- Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The expected base salary is $50,000 to $80,000. The range provided is the salary that the Company believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including skills, experience and qualifications. This range is provided in accordance with applicable state pay transparency laws.
