POSITION SUMMARY: The Member Experience Attendant and program participants. This position serves as the first point of contact in the lobby area, providing courteous and professional service, responding to inquiries, promoting memberships and programs, and ensuring the lobby is clean, organized, and inviting at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Fulfill the Y’s mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
  2. Promote and incorporate the YMCA’s core values and mission into all aspects of the job and community.
  3. Opens the facility and prepares the front desk area for daily operations during the early morning shift.
  4. Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants by creating a friendly, welcoming, and positive first impression.
  5. Greet and scan in each member in a pleasant and professional manner (i.e., greet, smile, make eye contact, and use first names when possible).
  6. Open and prepare the facility each morning to ensure the lobby area is clean, safe, and ready for members.
  7. Actively listen and respond to questions, concerns, and feedback from members, directing them to the appropriate staff or department as needed.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby area to ensure it reflects YMCA standards.
  9. Remain knowledgeable and current about YMCA programs, services, and schedules in order to provide accurate information to members.
  10. Enters or updates information in the system as needed; minimal data entry required.
  11. Participate as an active team member to support the overall advancement of the Association.
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
  2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  3. Must have the knowledge required for successful operation; ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteer leaders, YMCA members, and the general public is essential; ability to network and engage internal and external customers.
  4. Must be personable and demonstrate integrity and honesty. Must be a team player, able to effectively relate to all levels of staff and management. Must possess excellent organizational skills and written/oral communication skills.
  5. Required trainings:
  6. Within 30 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention (West Bend online).
  7. Within 30 days of hire: Blood Borne Pathogens (West Bend online).
  8. Within 60 days of hire: CPR and First Aid
  9. Within 90 days of hire: Listen First and Y Welcome
  10. Proficient in all standard business software including Google platforms and Microsoft Office.
