The IT Healthcare Consultant – Quality Assurance (Advanced QA Tester) is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of healthcare technology solutions. This role involves designing and executing test strategies, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to improve system functionality and efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Testing
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and testing processes (QA/UAT)
- Perform functional, regression, usability, and negative testing
- Analyze test results and identify defects, issues, and improvement areas
- Ensure system reliability, stability, and performance
Automation & Tools
- Design and execute automated testing scripts
- Support user interface testing and regression testing tools
- Maintain defect tracking systems and testing databases
Analysis & Problem Solving
- Translate business requirements and policy documentation into test scenarios
- Identify root causes of defects and recommend solutions
- Perform quality assessments to detect security flaws and performance gaps
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders
- Communicate testing status, risks, and issues effectively
- Create QA documentation, reports, and dashboards
Governance & Compliance
- Follow software testing standards, policies, and best practices
- Participate in reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections
- Recommend process improvements for QA methodologies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience translating business requirements into test cases and scenarios
- 2+ years of experience testing IBM Curam software
- Strong experience in QA testing methodologies and tools
- Ability to communicate testing results and issues clearly to development teams
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with large enterprise or e-business systems
- Knowledge of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid)
- Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments
- Relevant technical or project management certifications
