As a growing company, we are committed to delivering exceptional quality and service to our clients, and we are seeking a Solar Trailer Technician to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are searching for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Solar Trailer Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our fleet of solar and battery-powered trailers. As a Solar Trailer Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our trailers are in excellent working condition, meeting the specific power and technical requirements of our clients in the film and television industry. You will work closely with our operations team and collaborate with other technicians to deliver top-notch service and support to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on solar and battery- powered trailers, ensuring their optimal functionality and performance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems, identifying and resolving any issues or malfunctions
- Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components and systems
- Configure and test systems to meet specific requirements
- Check-in and out trailers using our reservation system
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed, documenting any changes made to the trailer's systems or components
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns from clients regarding trailer functionality and technical specifications
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of a trade such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or hydraulics with general mechanical aptitude and the desire to learn new systems
- Familiarity with solar panels, battery banks, inverters, and charging systems is preferred, but not a requirement
- Methodical and pragmatic approach to diagnosing and repairing issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to work outside in varying weather conditions year-round as necessary
Requirements:
- Vocational or technical training in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or hydraulic systems
- Valid driver's license - CDL preferred but not required
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to operate a cargo van and travel as needed to location for repairs
- Willingness to take on call fixes - On call times to be scheduled in advance based on your availability and the availability of your peers with paid travel time + OT if called in
Location:
- Primary work location: Newark, NJ
- Secondary work location: Greenpoint, BK
- On-Set locations are generally in a 30 miles radius from Columbus Circle, NYC though further travel may be necessary
Compensation & Benefits:
- $25-30/hr. - 40-hour work week + overtime & call-in pay
- 10 vacation / 5 personal days per year + paid holidays
