Assistant Manager – Jersey Mike’s Subs
Location: Lake Bluff, IL
Job Type: Full-Time | Hourly
Reports To: General Manager

Position Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in leading all aspects of daily restaurant operations to deliver an outstanding guest experience, a thriving team culture, and strong financial results. This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire, coach, and develop team members while ensuring operational excellence, food safety, and brand integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee all daily in-store operations, including training, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and cash handling.
- Ensure compliance with Jersey Mike’s operational standards, food safety regulations, and cleanliness requirements.
- Implement systems and procedures with integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Guest Experience
- Foster a welcoming, energetic, and service-focused environment.
- Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally.
- Lead by example in delivering friendly, engaging, and personalized service.
Financial Performance
- Manage food and operating costs to achieve profitability goals.
- Monitor daily sales, track key performance metrics, and implement strategies to drive revenue and control expenses.
Community Engagement
- Represent Jersey Mike’s in local marketing efforts and community events.
- Build strong connections with guests, local organizations, and the surrounding neighborhood.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or QSR management experience.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and emotional intelligence.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Must be 18 years or older, possess a valid driver’s license, and have reliable transportation.
- Serve Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Must be willing to train for initial 4 weeks in Chicago (Ravenswood Location). Managers will receive a $500 bonus upon completing training, in addition to hourly and overtime compensation earned during training.
