Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant educational setting near Aurora, CO. This contract role provides the opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs, whether you prefer working with mild-moderate caseloads or making an impact as a Significant Support Needs (SSN) Teacher. You’ll collaborate with dedicated colleagues and play a pivotal role in students’ development through the fall semester.
Opportunities Include:
- Full-time Learning Services at a local middle school (mild-moderate caseload), starting 9/23 for a 7-week assignment.
- Full-time split role (.5 SSN / .5 Learning Specialist) or .5 SSN Teacher position at another middle school, starting immediately through winter break. Learning Specialist assignment is similar to a mild-mod position.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (Ages 5-21) Endorsement.
- Previous experience working with students with mild-moderate or significant cognitive and communicative disabilities preferred.
- Ability to manage varying caseloads across one or two campuses, as determined by assignment specifics.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and adaptive instructional skills.
- Must meet all district-mandated credentialing requirements, including timely completion of fingerprinting and reference checks.
- RefAssured reference documentation must be submitted prior to placement consideration.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt individualized learning plans aligned with IEP goals.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students, fostering engagement and progress.
- Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure student success.
- Maintain detailed records and monitor student growth.
- Participate in IEP meetings and fulfill all required documentation.
