Aerotek is hiring a conveyor technician for a distribution company located in Olive Branch, MS. This position is a 6 month contract to hire on 1st shift. Pay is $25-$30/hr depending on experience. Please apply for immediate consideration.

Sunday 5am-5pm

Monday 5am-5pm

Tuesday 5am-5pm

Wednesday 5am-11am

(overtime as needed)


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Conveyor Technician to join our team in Olive Branch, MS. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical issues within conveyor systems and other warehouse machinery. The position requires daily maintenance of conveyor systems, material handling equipment batteries, and battery stations. You will also provide support for facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance of fire extinguishers, dock doors, dock levelers, and other warehouse equipment. You will work collaboratively with the maintenance staff to ensure a safe and functional work environment.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair material handling systems, including gears, chains, pulleys, belts, electric gear motors, rollers, and controls.
  • Maintain and repair sorter systems, including laser scanners, computers, and electronics.
  • Understand system flow, start, stop, and un-jam equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, dismantling, lubrication, and overhaul of machinery and equipment.
  • Check zones, belt tracking, photo eyes, and other system components.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and parts, observing safety procedures and meeting electrical codes.
  • Make decisions based on technical documents and perform quality testing and inspections.
  • May need to crawl, climb, and stand for extended periods.


Essential Skills

  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of conveyor systems.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and performing maintenance repairs.
  • Skills in using hand and power tools.
  • Understanding of industrial electrical troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance.


Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of technical hands-on experience.
  • Forklift certification and knowledge of battery changing/watering requirements.
  • Mechanical aptitude for basic repairs throughout the facility.
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs and comfort working at heights.


Work Environment

This position operates within a very clean distribution facility, requiring significant walking due to its size. Maintenance technicians use motorized vehicles for tools and gear. Work involves handling large sortation equipment, sometimes at heights of 5 to 30 feet. The facility is equipped with harnesses, railings, and platforms, ensuring safety during operations.
