CARVART is seeking a creative and talented partner to join our Project Engineering Team.

As a Project Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the Project Engineer, Director of Engineering, Project Manager, Director of Operations and the Field Superintendents to support the development of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation details and project submittals. You will assist in contacting vendors and suppliers for product details and collaborate with the estimating department for clarification on proposals when needed. This internship offers hands-on experience in design, drafting, and field coordination, while learning how to manage digital files and utilize construction management software.

You will gain exposure to the release and fabrication process, including preparing fabrication packages and ensuring all necessary documentation is organized and accurate. Interns will also observe and assist with quality control during production to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications. This role is ideal for proactive individuals eager to learn and contribute to the success of innovative construction projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and generating shop drawings based on project scope.

Support drafting of plans, sections, elevations, details, and diagrams using CAD programs (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit).

Help coordinate product samples and details with design intent and learn how to compare drawings with estimates to maintain budget compliance.

Observe and assist in analyzing customer design proposals and specifications to evaluate feasibility.

Communicate with vendors and partners under supervision regarding manufacturability and precision.

Assist in recommending design modifications to address installation challenges.

Learn to design and draft integration methods with surrounding structures by coordinating with adjacent trades.

Help create technical documents and specifications for materials (metal, glass, wood) based on design intent.

Support field operations, including measurements and manufacturing releases, and assist during final installation.

Learn to proactively coordinate schedules and budgets based on drawings and details and understand the importance of conformance with architectural contract documents.

Utilize and help maintain AutoCAD/Inventor drafting standards and templates.

Assist in preparing 'As Built' packages for project closeout.
