Sigmatex is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to join our team in Orangeburg, SC. Sigmatex is a global leader in carbon fibre textile solutions. This position offers an opportunity for an IT professional to lead digital transformation initiatives and support advanced manufacturing operations.
About the Role:
The IT Specialist will report directly to the Group IT Manager and serve as the primary IT contact for all operational and development needs at the Orangeburg site. Responsibilities include managing local systems, supporting users, and leading both strategic and tactical IT initiatives. The role involves ensuring system stability while integrating emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and analytics
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage various IT improvement and transformation projects across the site.
- Act as the local lead for Microsoft 365, including advanced use of Copilot.
- Manage on-site servers, user accounts, and security permissions in alignment with global standards.
- Support, maintain, and develop SharePoint-based workflows and document repositories.
- Design, implement, and maintain reporting tools using Power BI, integrating with multiple database types (e.g., SQL, ODBC, cloud-based).
- Provide local support for Sage X3 and Sage 1000 ERP systems, including user access, minor troubleshooting, and coordination with global support for escalated issues.
- Work with internal stakeholders to automate workflows and systems using tools such as Power Automate and Zoho Creator.
- Ensure that all systems are secure, patched, and compliant with corporate cybersecurity policies.
- Manage hardware and software asset lifecycles and liaise with vendors as necessary.
- Provide frontline IT support and training to site users, including onboarding/offboarding processes and incident resolution.
- Monitor system performance and recommend infrastructure and software utilisation improvements.
About You:
- Proven experience in an IT support or systems management role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Copilot tools.
- Knowledge of user management, permissions, Active Directory, and server operations (Windows Server preferred).
- Experience with Power BI and database integration and reporting.
- Familiarity with Sage X3 and/or Sage 1000 ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Experience with low-code platforms such as Zoho Creator or other business automation tools is an advantage.
- Security-conscious mindset, with experience enforcing IT policies and user awareness.
- Interest in emerging technologies, particularly in AI and automation.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
