Description\n
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Salem, VA.

- 500+ bed acute care hospital in Salem, VA
- Respiratory Therapy department located on the 2nd floor of the main building
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Rotating weekend coverage required
- Required procedures include HHN, CPT, BiPAP and vent management, and extubation
- Required skills include basic floor therapies (nebulizer treatments, CPT, nocturnal pulse oximetry, ABG collection) and BiPAP management
- Vent and BiPAP management experience and ICU experience are preferred
- Equipment used includes EPOC Blood Gas analyzer, PB 840, Newport, ReVel, LTV, and V60 ventilators
- EMR: Meditech
- Floating required to CICU, SICU, MICU, and step-down units
- Night shift staffing consists of 5 therapists including a charge person

Requirements\n

- Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
- Active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months required
- BLS and ACLS required; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start — AHA or ARC accepted
- US SSN and date of birth (DOB) required for consideration; Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- One professional reference required (two required if from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
