We are a 5 lawyer (one lawyer pending Bar NYS Bar admission) law firm located in Kenmore, NY., concentrating in matrimonial and family law mediation and litigation, Social Security disability appeals, personal injury and estates.
We are looking for a full-time paralegal for a small but growing law office who:
- greatly cares about the quality of their work and is attentive to detail
- has strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- is patient with clients
- is warm, empathetic and personable
- is a team player, willing to help other paralegals when needed
Inititially this paralegal would be working with full time mediator/attorney, Steve Sugarman:
- transcribing dictation of memos and mediated Agreements
- proofing and editing those documents
- collecting and organizing financial data of clients and putting together financial affidavits
- keeping files organized
- speaking with clients about scheduling and following up on their submission of financial data; and
- keeping clients current on their billing accounts.
Other duties:
- assisting in answering phones for firm
- possibly helping other lawyers such as in collecting medical information for Social Security and Personal Injury cases, helping put together pleadings, reviewing deposition transcripts.
- Required: previous experience as a paralegal or a new graduate of paralegal degree program.
- Preferred: previous experience in working in matrimonial and family law
