Our small business needs an all star salesperson! We're looking for someone to become an integral part of our team longterm. Part time now, with full time available after training.
Hourly Rate: $16.50 to start, with $.50 raises each quarter that you stick around and effectively demonstrate the ability and desire to do a great job. BUT we also do commissions (wow, in a gift shop? unheard of!) and bonuses which can raise your total hourly pay from $1 to $5+ more per hour.
Location: Balboa Island, CA
At Balboa Surf & Style, we’re more than a tshirt/souvenir shop—we’re a place locals and tourists come to soak up the beach vibe and find something to take it home with them. We carry surf brand clothing and sandals as well as and custom tees and hoodies to gifts like candles, jewelry, sandals, stickers, mugs, and beach gear, we keep the stoke alive with unique finds and friendly service.
We’re a casual, upbeat crew that loves beach culture, good vibes, loud music and great customer experiences!
Your Role:
As a Sales Associate, you’ll be the face of the shop—welcoming guests, sharing product knowledge, and helping folks find their perfect gifts and souvenirs. You’ll keep the store looking fresh, ring up sales accurately, and bring our shop’s fun, coastal energy to life.

-You don't know how to find things to do when it's slow. We’re not just looking for a ringer-upper to stand behind the counter. We want a true salesperson who takes pride in helping customers, hitting goals and representing the shop well.
-You’ve never held a job before. Prior retail or customer service experience is a must. We will train you in our systems, but we don't want to have to teach anyone everything from scratch. Commitment matters here. We run with a small crew so showing up for shifts, being on time, and following through is non-negotiable. Calling in “sick” because you’re hungover? That won’t fly.
