POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing technical services within scope of expertise to guests and for helping the location reach its revenue and profitability goals through productivity and exceptional guest relations. Develops following of guests by paying attention to details – greeting, consultation, education, personalization, hospitality, and encouragement. Follows the operational policies and procedures of the location to help ensure these functions are running smoothly. Effectively participates in the team efforts and contributes to the team atmosphere by assisting others.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. SERVICES

• Performs technical services within scope of expertise base on the guest’s needs.
• Ensures that the guest is the center of attention while in the service provider’s work area.
• Consults with the guest prior to performing any service.
• Focuses on the basics – pleasant environment, knowledge of services and products, customer service, organization of equipment and supplies, sales, and customer follow-up.
• Acts as an encourager and enthusiast for the guest regarding his/ her appearance and sense of well-being.
• Promotes the highest level of customer service through greeting the guest properly, sharing knowledge and expertise with the guest, ensuring the guest has a positive experience, escorting the guest to the reception area, and encouraging next booking and expanded use of Modern Salon & Spa services and products.
• Grows customer base through developing long-term relationships, offering complementary services, and participating in marketing events both on and off site.

2. Operations

• Provides input to the location leadership team regarding location operations, needs, and concerns.
• Notifies appropriate leader of supplies that are low, prior to depletion. Notifies appropriate leader of broken equipment or equipment which requires maintenance.
• Participates in implementing changes and ideas, which will help the location reach its goals.
• Utilizes resources prudently.
• Provides accurate and timely information to location leadership team regarding services provided, as requested.
• Assists in keeping work area organized and clean.
• Assists in keeping common areas organized and clean.

3. Communication/ Relationships/ Guest Relations

• Reports positive and negative factors impacting the operations to the location leadership team.
• Resolves guest issues or concerns as expeditiously as possible.
• Effectively shares and requests information from other team members as needed to perform job.
• Participates in scheduled and periodic staff meetings and events.
• Portrays a high energy level and personal interest in each customer. Interacts with customers to build long-term relationships.
• Models the Modern Salon & Spa way of ensuring the customer is made to feel comfortable, welcomed, and pampered.
• Manages schedule to promote productivity and guest relations.

4. Development

• Acts as an educator for other team members regarding area of expertise.
• Participates in on-going training and education sessions both on and off site.
• Continuously learns and grows in area of expertise. Listens to and learns from those leaders and team members with advanced knowledge and experience.
• Maintains knowledge of services, products, and merchandise on-hand.
• Educates and consults with customers, as appropriate.
• Cross trains in other work areas, as needed.

5. Other

• Performs other duties as required or requested.
• Contributes to the positive team efforts of the work area, individual location and the company.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive individual, company, and guest data without exception.
• Provides input to work area, location, and company regarding ideas about better ways to provide services.

*Active License in North Carolina required.
