Healthcare Regulatory Transactional Partner-Track Counsel



About the Role:

A leading regional law firm is seeking a Partner-track attorney to lead and manage complex Life Sciences and Healthcare transactions. The role focuses on corporate mergers and acquisitions, joint venture investments, private equity funding, and compliance with rapidly evolving healthcare regulations. The attorney will work with diverse healthcare clients, including health systems, medical groups, and life sciences organizations, to provide proactive legal solutions and mitigate regulatory and litigation risks.


Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare, review, and negotiate governance and commercial contracts, including operating agreements, management services, employment agreements, purchase/sale contracts, and revenue cycle management documents.

- Advise clients on healthcare compliance, including Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, state anti-fraud regulations, fee-splitting, and corporate practice of medicine rules.

- Provide business-focused legal guidance to navigate complex federal and state regulations.

- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development opportunities.

- Stay current with healthcare regulatory changes to mitigate client risk and support strategic decision-making.


Required Qualifications

- JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

- Active NJ Bar membership (NY Bar preferred).

- 10+ years of experience in healthcare transactional law, including M&A, contracts, and regulatory matters.

- Deep understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations.

- Strong drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills.

- Experience with client development or portable business is a plus.

- Proficiency with legal and financial technology platforms.

- Experience with health tech or private equity deals is desirable.


Compensation & Benefits:

- Competitive base salary: $180,000 – $250,000 annually.

- 2,000+ billable hours per year; minimum 4 days onsite during initial 90-day probationary period.

- Compensation includes a share of originated attorney fees (20–25%).
