About the Role


The Lead Surgical Assistant supports surgeons during procedures while overseeing the daily flow of the clinical team. This role combines direct patient care with team leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during procedures.
• Prepare patients, instruments, and procedure rooms for surgery.
• Maintain aseptic technique and support anesthesia monitoring.
• Oversee daily clinical assignments and late coverage scheduling.
• Train, mentor, and support surgical assistants.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and accreditation standards.
• Lead emergency drills, equipment checks, and maintain surgical logs.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia partners, and front office.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of oral surgery assisting required.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Leadership or lead role experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of instruments, sterilization, and anesthesia protocols.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
