Job Type: Part-Time (Independent Contractor)
Pay: $30–$35 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: 2–3 times per week for a few hours (flexible, mutually agreed upon)
Start Date: Immediate

A private family in State College, PA is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Part-Time Handyman / Property Caretaker to assist with general upkeep of their home and property. This live-out, part-time role is perfect for someone local, dependable, and experienced in residential maintenance. The position is an independent contractor engagement with potential for long-term work.

Responsibilities:

Garage & Vehicles

• Check gas levels; wash/detail vehicles

• Keep garage tidy and supplies stocked

Outdoor Maintenance

• Set up and maintain patio furniture (weather-permitting)

• Clear property of branches and debris

• Light landscaping (trimming, weeding, general upkeep)

• Maintain lighting, propane tanks, grill, firepit, and outdoor equipment

• Power wash driveway, patio, and walkways

Seasonal Tasks

• Winter: salt/shovel walkways, manage firewood supply

• Spring/Fall: clean bins, swap humidifier/dehumidifier use

• Wash windows, clean fireplaces, change air filters

Interior Support

• General tidying and organization

• Replace batteries and HVAC/air filters

• Report and address minor maintenance needs

• Assist with packing, inventory, and occasional prep for family events

Requirements:

• Prior experience in private home or handyman roles preferred

• Proficiency in general household maintenance and minor repairs

• Non-smoker

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• Fluent in English

• Able to pass a background check (including criminal and credit screening)

• Able to lift up to 55 lbs

• Meticulous, proactive, and discreet

• Reliable transportation and must live within a reasonable commuting distance to State College, PA
