Job Summary:

The Development/Events Coordinator supports the SVP, Development and Special Events Manager by providing clerical and administrative assistance to ensure departmental efficiency, while also enhancing brand visibility, community engagement, and operational excellence in development activities. This role focuses on data management, donor communication coordination, event preparation, and cultivating grassroots philanthropic relationships to build a strong pipeline for future giving.


Duties and Responsibilities

Database and CRM Management

  • Enter donor data, research findings, and communications into the CRM system in a timely manner, ensuring that the database remains up to date and accurate
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of fundraising tools and the website to ensure seamless operation of development and event activities.
  • Gather feedback and suggest improvements for internal and external fundraising processes.
  • Prepare donor data reports regularly to assist SVP, Development in identifying trends, tracking goal progress, and providing insights to inform future fundraising strategies.

Development

  • Assist with identifying and researching potential small-gift donors ($10,000 and below), including event volunteers, corporations, and individuals.
  • Collaborate with the SVP, Development to help implement donor-centered programming aimed at:
  • Inspiring individuals and communities to engage in grassroots, peer-to-peer fundraisers for FRN.
  • Enhancing attendance and participation in fundraising campaigns, events, and special giving days, both in-person and online.
  • Increasing public awareness of FRN’s mission and its three entities.
  • Support the SVP, Development in executing moves management strategies to encourage future increased giving from small-level donors.
  • Assist with the implementation of annual and holiday-specific fundraising campaigns, including direct mail efforts.
  • Work with the SVP, Development to develop stewardship plans, communication strategies, and segmented communication plans to engage small-level donors.
  • Coordinate with leadership and finance teams to prepare and send automated and personalized thank-you letters and acknowledgments promptly.
  • Ensure that all donor communications and fundraising activities are compliant with applicable privacy and security laws.

Events

  • Assist the Special Events Manager with sponsorship prospecting and outreach. Ensure that all event-related communications are coordinated, professional, and reflect FRN’s brand voice.
  • Support the Special Events Manager in planning and executing all internal and external activities related to fundraising events. This includes assisting with coordination among community partners, vendors, volunteers, and staff.
  • Complete event contracts and requests, submit online sponsorship applications, and respond to inquiries about upcoming events as directed by the Special Events Manager.
  • Provide logistical and on-site support for fundraising events, including setup, registration, and cleanup.
  • Maintain accurate records for events and related activities.
  • Perform additional clerical duties as assigned by the Special Events Manager and/or SVP, Development

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Salesforce/similar CRM in a non-profit setting preferred
  • 3-4 years of work experience with a good understanding of database management, reporting and analytics
  • Bachelor's of Arts degree or equivalent
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
