Position Summary
An advanced aerospace organization is seeking a Senior Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) Technician to join a dynamic and growing team supporting the production and deployment of next-generation spacecraft systems. This role will focus on hands-on spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing of flight hardware, with additional responsibilities including procedure development, inspection, and mentoring junior technicians.
Ideal candidates will be passionate about space systems, have a strong mechanical/electrical background, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Assemble, integrate, inspect, and perform operational checkout of spacecraft flight hardware and associated ground support equipment

Train and mentor less experienced technicians

Write test procedures and operational documentation

Ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during build and test phases

Collaborate with engineers and other technicians across various disciplines
Required Qualifications
-
12+ years of experience in aerospace or aviation operations
-
Demonstrated experience working with flight hardware in a production environment

Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing practices
-
Skilled in fabricating and routing flight/test harnessing
-
Experience inspecting, repairing, or building flight circuit card assemblies (CCAs)

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, and 3D models

Comfortable with mechanical and precision hand tools
-
Proficient with electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies)

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication
-
Capable of lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs, and working in confined spaces

Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools

Ability to obtain a Secret or TS/SCI security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience installing and modifying spacecraft Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blankets
-
FAA A&P License
-
IPC and J-STD certifications
-
Associate’s degree or technical certificate in a related field

Previous hands-on experience with spacecraft bus or payload integration

Skilled in mixing and applying adhesives, epoxies, and coatings
-
Certified in forklift and overhead crane operations

Strong electrical troubleshooting capability
