Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Personal Injury Attorney to join our team. The Attorney will represent clients injured in accidents and incidents, pursuing fair compensation through negotiation, mediation, and litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling PI matters including auto collisions, slip-and-fall, premises liability, and other personal injury claims, and will be committed to providing compassionate, results-driven legal counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution, including auto accidents, slip-and-fall, and premises liability claims.
- Conduct thorough case investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, consult with experts, and obtain relevant records.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, demand letters, settlement agreements, and other legal documents in a timely manner.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies, defense counsel, and other parties to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as necessary.
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to clients about case status, strategy, timelines, and potential outcomes.
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to manage case workflow and ensure compliance with procedural and ethical obligations.
- Maintain accurate case files, billing records, and documentation to support case management and firm operations.
- Stay current with personal injury law developments, court decisions, and best practices to inform case strategy and advocacy.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar license in the state of practice.
- 2+ years of experience handling personal injury matters; civil litigation and trial experience preferred.
- Proven track record with personal injury cases including auto accidents, slip-and-fall, and premises liability.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience dealing with insurance companies and defense counsel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to clients clearly and compassionately.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience preparing pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial materials.
- Client-focused attitude, strong ethical standards, and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Familiarity with case management software and legal research tools.
