Location: Belleville, MI (In-office primarily; limited hybrid flexibility may be available)


Job Summary:

Corby Energy Services, Inc. (“CES”) is seeking a Legal Services Associate to join its in-house legal team. This is a hands-on, early-career role supporting multiple operating companies in the infrastructure design, engineering, and construction industries.

The position works directly with the General Counsel and alongside Corporate Counsel to provide practical legal and compliance support across corporate governance, contract administration and review, employment-related matters, and legal review of external communications.

This role is intentionally broad and is suitable for candidates with meaningful legal experience, whether obtained through formal legal training, prior in-house or law firm roles, regulatory or compliance work, or comparable professional experience. Candidates who are licensed attorneys, pending admission, or on a legal career track are encouraged to apply, but licensure is not required for this role.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Governance & Compliance

· Support corporate governance matters across multiple entities, including resolutions, annual filings, and maintenance of entity records.

· Draft, review, and revise commercial contracts, including service agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and real estate or equipment-related agreements.

· Assist in developing and maintaining standard contract templates and approved clause language.

· Provide legal support on employment-related matters, including policies, handbook updates, discipline and termination documentation, and compliance with applicable employment laws.

· Review marketing materials, website content, and other external communications for legal and compliance considerations.

· Respond to internal legal requests and support legal research, due diligence, compliance initiatives, and coordination with outside counsel.

· Maintain organized legal files, tracking tools, and matter lists.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.

For candidates on a legal career track, opportunities may exist for progression into an attorney-designated role following licensure. For non-attorney candidates, the role offers growth in legal operations, compliance, contract management, and governance support.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree preferred; concentration in legal studies, business, compliance, public policy, or related field preferred

· 2–5 years of relevant legal, compliance, contract administration, regulatory, or related professional experience

· Demonstrated experience reviewing, drafting, organizing, or administering contracts, policies, or compliance materials

· Strong written communication skills, including the ability to clearly summarize legal or regulatory issues for non-legal audiences

· High attention to detail, discretion, and comfort handling confidential and sensitive matters

· Ability to work directly with senior leadership and across operations, HR, finance, and compliance teams
