Job DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions has a Fleet Technician opening for our client in the Jackson, MI area. This direct hire role allows you to elevate your technician career by collaboration through diagnostic, compliance and fleet supervision. This on-site position requires a minimum of 2 years of first-, second- or third-class technician experience as well as a very strong and proven experience in documentation.

Salary range: $75,000+.

  • Performs data analysis including the ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize and/or reference data.

  • Use a variety of data and information such as safety regulations, work orders, equipment maintenance and repair manuals, diagrams/schematics, engine oil analysis reports, and parts manuals.

  • Follow instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.

  • Exercises independent judgment for tasks, methods, and standards to meet variations in assigned objective and/or schedule.

  • Document work performed and materials used in company’s fleet maintenance management system.

  • Collaborate on tasks, job practices and procedures related to vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair.

  • Operates shop/test equipment in accordance with policy, procedure and safety or otherwise works with tools/materials required to perform vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair

  • Maintains a clean and organized work area

  • Adheres to all applicable safety standards be it OSHA, Federal/State/Local DOT regulations and company safety rules

  • Oversee all aspects of diagnostic set up and operations.

  • Machine maintenance, and any needed tools to obtain the best outcome of products.

  • Mentor and maintain oversight of set up, machining, and bench operations, including the ensuring of specifications and documentations, are being interpreted correctly and clearly.

  • Consistently adhere, implement and oversee safety policies and procedures are being followed by all shop personnel and visitors.

  • Maintain company policy and procedure with personnel, implementing performance reviews, safety violations, disciplinary issues, investigations, etc.,

  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the best product outcome and customer service.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of third-class technician experience in diesel, auto maintenance and repair, etc.

  • High school or vocational graduates require plus apprenticeship, journeyman, or similar trades training.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), State and Local DOT Regulations as it relates to vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to obtain appropriate licensing/certifications related to vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair (Commercial Driver License (CDL), State Inspectors’ License, FMCSA Brake Inspector Certification, Etc.)

  • Must be able to meet exposure to adverse/environmental conditions, such as, but not limited to rain, wind, snow, dirt, dust, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery vibrations and traffic hazards

  • Available on a twenty-four (24) by seven (7) bases, to respond to overtime requests, emergency callouts and/or operational support IF required

  • Company laptop computer provided

  • Must be able to work collaboratively with engineering and design staff, R&D staff, lab staff, etc. in a positive and efficient manner.

  • Must possess strong detailed attention as well as highly analytical skillset.

  • Must have proven clear and effective communication skills written and verbally.

  • Must be willing to work closely with management to consistently improve process and procedure, costs savings, schedule planning, maintenance, and safety methods.




Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
