Job Description

A Civil Litigation Associate Attorney is sought to support a broad litigation practice representing insurance carriers and policyholders across a range of civil matters.

Position Overview

This role offers exposure to multiple areas of litigation including employment, transportation, civil rights, business disputes, and related matters. The attorney will contribute across all stages of litigation from initial evaluation through trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court, arbitration, and administrative proceedings
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
  • Conduct legal research and analyze relevant authorities
  • Assist with case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation
  • Evaluate liability and damages exposure
  • Communicate with clients, claims personnel, and opposing counsel
  • Manage deadlines and litigation caseload

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active California State Bar license in good standing
  • 2–5 years of civil litigation experience preferred (open to junior candidates with strong interest)
  • Experience with depositions, motion practice, and discovery is a plus
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with a collaborative mindset

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $90,000 – $150,000
