Provide vital pharmaceutical care in a busy 200+ bed community hospital located in Alexandria, LA. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic work environment with multiple shift options and a supportive healthcare team. The assignment begins ASAP and lasts approximately 13 weeks.
Schedule:
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
- Rotating schedule examples: 6 AM–4:30 PM, 7 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11 PM
- Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders with accuracy and attention to detail
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow
- Consult directly with physicians and nurses regarding medication therapies
- Apply pharmacokinetics principles to optimize patient care
- Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automation systems
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license
- Recent hospital pharmacy experience to navigate fast-paced clinical settings
- BLS certification through American Heart Association
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
