At Lensing Building Specialties and Architectural Sales, our Architectural Sales Integration (ASI) team provides electronic building security and safety systems (such as access control, intrusion alarms, security cameras and smoking/vaping detectors) for commercial and industrial facilities. Our specially trained team installs these low-voltage systems and provides continued services, maintenance and upgrades.
The Access Control Field Service Technician installs and services low voltage security systems in a new construction and a retrofit/aftermarket commercial and light industrial environment. The Access Control Field Service Technicians play a critical role in delivering top services to our customers with the basic scope of work to include new installation projects and service of existing installations.

Duties
- Install and service low voltage security systems in new construction and retrofit/aftermarket commercial and light industrial environments
- Program security, access control, and camera systems
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and system upgrades at customer sites
- Collaborate with the project team with site planning, compliance, inspections and system commissioning after project completion
- Serve as the technical liaison between our customers and our system hardware and software manufacturers.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers by delivering outstanding service, training and support
- Complete service reports and documentation within project deadlines
- Provide assistance to other Field Service Technicians as needed, promoting a supportive team environment
- Terminate and install end devices such as card readers, motion detectors, glass breaks, electric locks, and cameras.
- Dress and terminate security panels within an IDF room
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's license and insurable with company insurance
- 2+ years hands on experience troubleshooting and installing systems (access control experience a plus)
- Operate various power equipment such as power tools and drills
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Measure and apply basic math skills
- Familiarity with NEC Standards and electrical codes a plus, but not required
- Lift large, bulky, and heavy objects and able to navigate warehouse to access both high and low items
- Comfortable with aerial installation work using ladders and lifts.
- Work non-climate-controlled setting
