Job DescriptionSalary: $20/hr
Summary: Sammamish Presbyterian Church (SPC) has several regular and varying services and events that have childcare provided so that parents can fully participate. That is where YOU come in. You have the incredible opportunity to serve the families in the Sammamish area by providing safe and nurturing care for the kids. As a childcare worker you may be in a room with babies or in a room with older elementary students depending on the need. Flexibility is key!
The primary responsibilities for this position are:
To provide dependable, safe, secure and nurturing care to the children.
- Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which may include:
- Feeding
- Changing Diapers using gloves and with a second adult in the room to ensure the safety and protection of the child and adult.
- Escorting children to the bathroom and practicing our safety protocols.
- Maintaining a safe environment
- Sanitizing areas after use
- Sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, songs, and play.
- Be polite, courteous and friendly to all children, parents, and team members.
- Arrive on time and have your classroom ready to receive kids.
- Stay until all children are with the parent/guardian who checked them in.
- Before you leave, straighten the room and clean any toys or furniture before leaving and locking up your classroom.
- Report any issues to the Childcare Team Lead on site with questions and or concerns.
- Communicate in advance by phone with the Childrens Ministry Director:
- any planned absences, with a two-week advance notice.
- And any unplanned absences with at least a 24-hour notice.
Accountability and Supervision: Supervised by the Childcare Team Leader and Director of Childrens Ministry
Qualifications:
- Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 11 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities, preferred but not required.
- At least 14 years of age
- Satisfactory completion of a background check
- CPR Certified for infants and children (will provide if needed).
- Must adhere to our Child Protection Policy Guidelines.
Hours: Days and hours are varying. $20/hr.
