Commissioning / Service Technician – Field-Based Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commissioning / Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This individual will provide expert technical support, participate in field service assignments, and collaborate with Aftermarket personnel to ensure seamless equipment performance and customer satisfaction. This role requires extensive travel—up to 75%—to various customer sites.
Key Responsibilities

Participate in equipment runoffs and conduct thorough pre-shipment quality checks to identify and mitigate performance risks.

Perform field commissioning, including installation, start-up, and validation testing of advanced machinery at customer facilities.

Resolve technical issues swiftly and effectively; ensure all equipment operates according to performance specifications.

Lead or support 8D root cause analyses; ensure proper documentation and implementation of corrective actions.

Maintain up-to-date records on open issues, resources, timelines, and corrective action plans related to equipment performance.

Assist in preparing warranty documentation, supporting the creation of long-term solutions for recurring issues.

Deliver responsive on-site service, remote technical assistance, and pre-sales engineering support.

Act as the primary technical liaison between internal project teams and customer representatives during the warranty period.

Contribute to the development and validation of maintenance procedures and technical manuals.

Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and support reliability and maintainability (R&M) initiatives.

Identify and engage in customer training opportunities, assisting in knowledge transfer on system operation and maintenance.

Exhibit flexibility to work as a Machine Builder in a manufacturing environment between service assignments, when required.
Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in commissioning, field service, or technical support for complex mechanical/electrical systems.

Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, automation, and industrial machinery.

Proficient in conducting root cause failure analysis (8D method).

Exceptional problem-solving, diagnostic, and communication skills.

Ability to travel frequently (up to 75%) including short-notice travel by air or vehicle.

Experience working collaboratively with project managers, engineering teams, and customers.

Comfortable operating in both field environments and manufacturing settings.
