Job Description

As a Security Guard - Medical Center Patrol Rounds in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly, provide customer service to staff and visitors, and report concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry for employees, authorized visitors, and deliveries, including verifying credentials and maintaining visitor logs as required.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas and exterior perimeter, including corridors, parking areas, loading areas, and other assigned spaces; working conditions may vary by location.
  • Observe and report unusual activity, unauthorized persons, and/or suspicious conditions, and document observations according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting onsite leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Support protection of restricted areas such as laboratories, intake areas, examination rooms, and evidence-related spaces by checking doors, monitoring access, and reporting access concerns.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems when assigned, and communicate system activations and/or irregularities to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with orderly movement of people and vehicles, including directing foot traffic and/or parking as needed during peak periods or special operations.
  • Complete required reports such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity summaries with clear, timely, and accurate information.
  • Maintain a professional presence, follow Allied Universal standards and post orders, and coordinate with healthcare staff and local responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
