Job Summary

The Litigation Paralegal is a seasoned legal professional responsible for supporting complex litigation matters from inception through resolution. This role requires strong drafting capabilities, deep familiarity with discovery processes, and the ability to independently manage case progression while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal teams.

The ideal candidate brings a strong defense-side litigation background, understands billing expectations, and can craft clear, detailed narratives supporting time entries. This position operates in a high-document, deadline-driven environment requiring precision, accountability, and proactive case management.

As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for:Litigation Case Management

• Proactively manage litigation matters, independently identifying and executing next steps throughout the case lifecycle.

• Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

• Maintain and manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and critical case milestones.

• Handle high volumes of documentation with strong organizational accuracy.

Drafting & Legal Documentation

• Independently draft pleadings including complaints, motions, and discovery documents.

• Prepare and manage discovery requests and responses.

• Conduct background reviews and assist with case-related research as required.

• Ensure filings comply with court rules and procedural requirements.

Billing & Administrative Support

• Accurately record billable time and craft detailed narratives to support work performed.

• Demonstrate clear understanding of defense-side billing expectations and documentation standards.

• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to support case documentation, reporting, and file management.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience within legal services.

• Proven experience handling discovery requests and background reviews.

• Experience working within the U.S. legal system, specifically New Jersey or a similar jurisdiction, with knowledge of local litigation procedures

• Ability to independently draft complaints, motions, and discovery documents.

• Strong billing experience with the ability to craft narrative support for time entries.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a legal team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Personal injury experience aligned with defense-side billing expectations.
