Reports To: Technical Division Manager
Employment Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Full time:
40 hrs/week
Mon- Fri, from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with occasional weekend responsibilities.
Job Summary:
Maintenance Technicians play a crucial role in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services for light commercial equipment at various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on all equipment, and building/site components.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and low-voltage systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial lighting systems, including LED retrofits and control panels.
- Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, and air handling units
- Respond to urgent maintenance calls and perform diagnostics and repairs.
- Oversee access control systems, fire alarm testing, and life/safety compliance.
- Perform light carpentry, drywall patching, painting, and door/window repair and replacement.
- Collaborate with custodial, security, and A/V teams for events and special facility setups.
Personal Competencies:
- Ability to interface professionally with school and church administrators and staff.
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Extremely organized and able to utilize the capacity of smartphone technologies.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills for research, communication, and recordkeeping.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting maintenance in commercial settings; showing proven ability to work independently diagnosing and completing repairs.
- EPA certification and proficiency with a voltmeter, gauges, and overall understanding of HVAC systems; a plus.
- Daily driving is required; one must have a valid driver's license and be insurable to drive a company or customer vehicle.
- Willing to occasionally work evenings or weekends when required. Limited overtime.
- Must be able to pass the criminal background check required to work in educational facilities with children present.
- Must be able to work in a Free-Smoke environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Work will be both indoor and outdoor and require long periods of movement and activity.
- This employment typically requires: climbing, reaching, standing, walking, and grasping, work environments may be noisy and include repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds (on an intermittent basis)
