Hiring Sign Language Interpreter – 2026–2027 School Year

Location: Poquoson, VA
Full-Time Contract Position

Bilingual Therapies is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a full-time, onsite contract opportunity in Poquoson, Virginia. This position will provide 1:1 interpreting support for a 3rd grade student. Due to the student's age and individual needs, the school is specifically seeking a professional who can provide consistent onsite support throughout the school day. The position is available for an ASAP start.

Job Qualifications:

• VQAS Level 3 or higher required
• Minimum 3.5 EIPA score required
• Must have passed the written portion of the EIPA
• Experience providing interpreting services in a school-based setting preferred
• Ability to provide effective 1:1 interpreting support to an elementary-aged student
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, school staff, and families
• Patience, flexibility, and professionalism when working with students
• Ability to work onsite and maintain consistent full-time hours
