HVAC/R Service Technician
Location: Portland, ME | Statewide Travel | Home Dispatch
We are seeking an experienced HVAC/R Service Technician to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently and traveling throughout Maine and New England.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain HVAC/R systems.
- Service rooftop units, walk-in coolers/freezers, refrigerated cases, and ice machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate with dispatch.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other technicians.
- Follow all safety procedures and applicable codes.
- Maintain a company vehicle and professional customer service standards.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Travel throughout New England, including occasional overnight stays.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on HVAC/R experience.
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
- Strong HVAC/R troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Knowledge of local/state building codes and industry standards.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work on rooftops, ladders, lifts, basements, attics, and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and heavier equipment when required.
- Must have standard HVAC/R hand tools and commonly used power tools.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
