Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Legal Secretary to join our team in Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky. This is a Contract to permanent position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic legal environment. The role involves a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, supporting legal professionals and ensuring the smooth operation of the office.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, edit, and format legal documents such as briefs, correspondence, and case notes with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organize paper and electronic filing systems to ensure easy access and secure storage of important documents.
• Manage schedules and coordinate meetings, including weekly case load discussions to align on objectives and timelines.
• Handle incoming calls and messages professionally, providing excellent customer service to clients and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain case files, tracking critical documents and deadlines to support case progression.
• Assist in cases related to human rights, special education, civil litigation, criminal matters, and employment discrimination.
• Take dictation and notes during meetings to capture essential information for legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless communication and case management.
• Perform general office duties, including document tracking, message taking, and maintaining organization in a paper-based office environment.• Proficiency in calendar management and scheduling to coordinate meetings and case deadlines.
• Strong skills in dictation and note-taking for accurate documentation.
• Ability to draft and manage business and confidential correspondence with discretion.
• Familiarity with both paper-based and electronic file systems to ensure organized record-keeping.
• Expertise in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook for document creation and communication.
• Exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Intuitive and proactive problem-solving abilities to support team operations.
• Customer service skills to handle client interactions with professionalism and care.
