Ashland Area YMCA | Ashland, KY
The Ashland Area YMCA is looking for an energetic, motivated, and enthusiastic Aqua Class Instructor to join our aquatics team! If you enjoy fitness, working with people, and creating a fun and welcoming environment, we’d love to have you on our team.
Class Schedule
Our aqua classes are held in the mornings, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for a flexible part-time schedule.
- Tuesday: 9:00AM-10:45AM
- Wednesday: 9:00AM-10:45AM
- Thursday: 9:00AM-10:45AM
Additional morning classes may be available based on scheduling and program needs.
What You'll Do
- Lead safe, fun, and engaging water-based fitness classes.
- Plan and teach classes that include warm-ups, cardio, strength, and cool-downs.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and provide modifications for different fitness levels.
- Create a positive and encouraging environment for all participants.
- Monitor participants and follow YMCA pool and safety guidelines.
- Set up, clean, and store aquatic equipment before and after class.
- Build positive relationships with YMCA members and encourage continued participation.
- Communicate any incidents, maintenance concerns, or participant needs to the Aquatics Director.
- Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
What We're Looking For
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
- Current Lifeguard Certification preferred or willing to obtain one.
- Water Fitness Instructor certification preferred or willing to obtain one.
- Previous group fitness or aqua fitness experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Energetic, dependable, and comfortable leading a group.
- Enjoys motivating and encouraging others.
