The Packaging Line Supervisor leads daily slicing operations, coordinating team members, supporting machine performance, and maintaining product flow. This role is hands-on and responsible for troubleshooting issues, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise slicing operations, staffing, and workflow
- Monitor line efficiency, output, and downtime; adjust as needed
- Support operation and troubleshooting of equipment (GEA slicers / Multivac preferred)
- Perform minor mechanical adjustments and coordinate with maintenance
- Ensure proper product loading, alignment, and quality standards
- Enforce FDA, food safety, and internal compliance standards
- Train and support team members to maintain efficient, consistent operations
- Identify and resolve production issues to reduce waste and rework
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing or packaging required
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Familiarity with GEA slicers or Multivac systems is a strong plus
- Knowledge of FDA and food safety standards preferred
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- Spanish speaking is a plus
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in cold environments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting
