We invite you to become part of a dynamic cardiology team consisting of two interventional cardiologists, one non-invasive cardiologist, two electrophysiologists, and one heart failure specialist. This established clinic boasts a robust patient base and is supported by four physician assistants and two nurse practitioners.
Located just 1.5 miles from the local hospital, the clinic also offers additional hours at the nearby facility. Our Altoona clinic features a comprehensive pacemaker program, ensuring a balanced workload between inpatient and outpatient care. The typical work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a call rotation of 1:5.
We are seeking candidates who are board certified or board eligible, particularly recent graduates.
About the Cardiology Department
The cardiology team in Altoona includes both a vascular and a cardiothoracic surgeon, integrated within our Heart & Vascular Institute. Our catheterization lab has successfully treated over 3,000 patients and introduced TAVR and Watchman procedures in 2019.

The Health System
Our facility is part of a prestigious network that includes over 40 hospitals, 90,000 employees, and 700 physician offices, along with a 3.4 million-member insurance services division. The hospital itself is a 400-bed tertiary care center, featuring more than 400 practicing physicians who serve a six-county area in central Pennsylvania. It is accredited as a level 3 trauma, stroke, and chest pain center, and houses a regional oncology, cardiology, and cardiac and vascular surgery center.
The Altoona Regional Health Services (ARHS) encompasses a large practice with over 100 physicians and more than 75 advanced practice providers, covering specialties such as cardiology, medical oncology, neurology, pulmonology, dermatology, internal medicine, family practice, urology, ENT, and plastic surgery.
