Company Overview: We are a civil contractor specializing in the construction of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water management systems, and public utilities. Our team is dedicated to creating sustainable and innovative solutions that improve the communities we serve. We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Field Engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.
Job Summary: As a Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing various aspects of our construction projects, from initial site survey and planning to execution and completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires strong technical knowledge, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of project plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Perform site surveys, soil testing, and other field investigations
- Monitor and report on project progress and quality, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates and recommendations as needed
- Review and approve material submittals and shop drawings
- Assist in the resolution of technical issues, change orders, and claims
- Continuously update and maintain project documentation, including as-built drawings and records.
Qualifications:
- College classes in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in civil construction, preferably with a focus on infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management software
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification is a plus
