Systems Administrator/Cyber Security Analyst

Northland Business Systems is looking for a Systems Administrator/Cyber Security Analyst located in the Burnsville, MN area. This position is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and securing it organization's IT infrastructure. This position works closely with other IT teams to ensure the smooth operation of all systems and networks. This position will be involved in troubleshooting complex issues, implementing new technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Support Systems I and II teams to resolve complex or in-depth internal issues as necessary.
- Create and resolve tickets for each service request through BMS, projects through QUIP,
documentation in Kaseya IT Glue, and Kaseya & LogMeIn is used internally and externally as an RMM/MSP.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop and server level, including installing and
upgrading software, installing hardware, and configuring systems and applications as needed.
- Meet with IT Manager or equivalent to discuss enhancements and defect resolutions are
- Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
- Test new products and applications prior to providing to customers or with Internal
- Support customers in learning new products and applications and assist in determining fit.
- Coordinate and manage non-sale System Software Updates &
- Perform recommended preventative maintenance, including installing service packs, patches, new releases, hotfixes, etc as needed.
- Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue to Kaseya IT
- Learn new
- Travel to customer sites or attend new product seminars as
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery
- Manage and maintain servers, operating systems, and virtualization
- Install, configure, and update software and hardware
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's data and infrastructure.
Network Administration:
- Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and
- Monitor network traffic and implement necessary changes to ensure efficiency and
- Troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with network engineers for

Technical Support:
- Provide technical assistance and support to end-users on hardware and software- related issues.
- Respond to IT support tickets in a timely manner and resolve issues

Project Management:
- Lead or participate in IT projects related to system upgrades, migrations, or
- Develop project plans, timelines, and
- Coordinate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure project
Documentation and Training:
- Develop and enhance Internal SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) as
- Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting
- Create training materials and conduct training sessions for IT staff and end-
Security Monitoring and Incident Response:
- Monitor security events and alerts from various sources, including SIEM (Security
Information and Event Management) systems, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
- Analyze security incidents to determine the root cause, impact, and appropriate response actions.
- Coordinate incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, and recovery, in collaboration with other IT teams and stakeholders.
- Document incident details, response actions, and lessons learned for future reference and improvement.
Vulnerability Management:
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses and potential security risks in systems, networks, and applications.
- Prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities based on risk assessment and severity
- Implement and maintain vulnerability scanning tools and processes to ensure continuous monitoring and mitigation of security flaws.
Security Policy and Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures based on industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CJIS, PCI DSS).
- Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote adherence to security policies and raise awareness of cyber threats.
- Perform security compliance assessments and audits to ensure adherence to security standards and regulatory requirements.
Threat Intelligence and Analysis:
- Stay informed about emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and vulnerabilities through threat intelligence sources and industry publications.
- Analyze and interpret threat intelligence data to assess potential risks and enhance security defenses.
- Implement threat detection and prevention measures based on threat intelligence insights and recommendations.
Security Tools Management:
- Administer and maintain security tools and technologies, such as firewalls,
antivirus/anti-malware software, endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
- Configure security controls and policies to align with security requirements and
- Evaluate and recommend new security tools and technologies to enhance the organization's security posture.
