Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with the patient, family, and inter-professional team, adjusting interventions based on ongoing assessment findings.
• Administer patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice; recognize and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions to support understanding and compliance.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, coordinating with case management and other disciplines to ensure timely and safe transitions of care.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform age-specific patient safety assessments and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across care team disciplines.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and clinical applications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Previous nursing experience in an emergency department or acute care setting.
