Job DescriptionPart-Time Litigation Legal Assistant (Temporary Project)
Location: Downtown Chicago
Schedule: Onsite, 5 days/week
Compensation: $60,000-$80,000 annualized (part-time); conversion to full-time eligible

LHH is seeking a Part-Time Litigation Legal Assistant for a temporary project a downtown Chicago law firm client. This role has strong potential to convert to full-time. This is a fully onsite role supporting active litigation matters in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, filing, and managing state and federal court filings
  • Handling electronic filings via Odyssey (state courts) and PACER/CM-ECF (federal courts)
  • Assisting with pleadings, motions, discovery, and court correspondence
  • Monitoring filing deadlines, docket activity, and court notices
  • Coordinating service of process and maintaining case files
  • Providing general litigation administrative support to attorneys

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a litigation legal assistant or legal secretary
  • Required experience with state and federal e-filing, including Odyssey and PACER/CM-ECF
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures and court deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week in downtown Chicago
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay rate of $30-40/hour
  • PTO accrued up to 184 hours annually (prorated based on hire date)
  • 13 paid holidays (prorated)
  • Paid sick leave
  • Up to 6 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Annual discretionary bonus based on individual performance

Pay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
