Section Chief of Psychiatry

Position Overview: As Section Chief, you will provide clinical, strategic, and operational leadership for inpatient and outpatient psychiatry services, supporting Veterans in Charlotte, Salisbury, and across our system. You will:
\n
• Oversee psychiatric care across multiple settings: inpatient units, ambulatory programs, SUD/PTSD residential treatment, emergency consults, and geriatric care
\n
• Supervise psychiatry staff and advanced practice providers
\n
• Guide quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and department operations
\n
• Participate in hospital committees, process improvement, and research/peer review activities
\n
• Foster a collaborative environment by teaching and mentoring psychiatry residents and interdisciplinary trainees
\n
• Serve as Acting Chief of Mental Health Service Line as needed
\n
• Collaborate closely with other mental health leaders to ensure effective, meaningful treatment for Veterans
\n
Faculty appointment with affiliated academic centers and participation in scholarship and education activities are expected and encouraged.
