Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary-aged students in a vibrant, innovative environment dedicated to both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work in a center-based Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD) setting and contribute to a school where mathematics, science, and engineering are creatively woven into daily learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction and support to students with emotional and behavioral needs in a specialized EBD classroom
  • Develop, implement, and adjust Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student requirements
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure inclusive practices
  • Foster a positive, structured environment that promotes both social and academic success
  • Maintain effective communication with families, offering guidance and updates on student progress
  • Monitor and document student growth, behavior, and performance
  • Engage in professional learning and adapt instructional strategies using research-based practices

Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
  • Background and experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in EBD or similar settings
  • Strong commitment to supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students’ abilities
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

This full-time role follows a Monday through Friday schedule, working approximately 37.5 hours per week during the academic year (September 2026 through June 2027). The school’s commitment to STEM and personalized instruction creates an inspiring environment for both educators and students.
