KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrochemical Research & Development

• Design and execute experiments to evaluate new electrode, electrolyte, and separator chemistries for improved energy density, cycle life, power output, and safety
• Develop understanding of electrochemical performance, degradation, and failure modes
• Develop and execute new material qualification plans

Cell & Process Development

• Analyzes and evaluates cell data to determine direct and interaction effects of the materials under evaluation
• Optimize electrode formulations, electrolyte blends, and processing parameters for scalability
• Lead root cause analysis for electrochemical performance issues in pilot and production cells
• Collaborate with cell design and manufacturing teams to ensure material compatibility with production processes (coating, calendaring, assembly, formation)
• Assist with engineering-level test builds together with quality and operations personnel at manufacturing facilities.

Project Leadership & Collaboration

• Manage technical deliverables, timelines, and resources for assigned projects
• Work closely with suppliers, universities, and research institutions on joint development programs
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in electrochemical testing, analysis, and interpretation

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze experimental data and draw conclusions to guide next steps in development
• Document work in technical reports, standard operating procedures, and IP disclosures
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and executive leadership
