Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with endorsements in both Special and General Education specific to the Pre-K age range
- Experience working with young children, particularly those with developmental, behavioral, or communication challenges
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices in Special Education
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to varied learning needs
- Comfortable providing physical assistance, including feeding, toileting, and diapering
- Familiarity with non-verbal or low-verbal communication methods is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment for preschoolers with a range of needs
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide specialized instruction in both group and one-on-one settings
- Assist with daily living skills, including feeding, toileting, and diapering as needed
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure consistent care and progress
- Support students in developing communication, motor, and social skills, adapting techniques as necessary
