Position Type: Part-Time (1099 Independent Contractor or W-2, as applicable)
Schedule: Flexible; services may be provided any day of the week between 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM, based on client and family needs.
Position Summary
Bridging Gapss, LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Part-Time Respite Workers to provide high-quality care and supervision to children and youth enrolled in Wisconsin's Children's Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program. Respite Workers provide temporary relief to caregivers while ensuring participants remain safe, engaged, and supported in achieving their individualized goals.
Services are provided in the participant's home and throughout the community, promoting social engagement, independence, and meaningful recreational experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and care for children with developmental, behavioral, emotional, and/or physical disabilities.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants at all times.
- Engage participants in age-appropriate recreational, educational, and community-based activities.
- Assist participants with daily routines and independent living skills as appropriate.
- Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies.
- Follow each participant's Individual Service Plan (ISP) and approved CLTS outcomes.
- Document services accurately and submit required progress notes within agency deadlines.
- Report concerns, incidents, or emergencies promptly to agency leadership.
- Arrive on time and maintain dependable attendance.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors regarding schedule changes or client concerns.
- Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Experience in caregiving, mentoring, childcare, education, behavioral health, or human services is a plus.
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A valid driver's license.
- Reliable personal vehicle for transportation to client homes and community activities.
- Current automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel throughout Waukesha County, Milwaukee County, Menomonee Falls, Sussex, and surrounding service areas.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to complete all required onboarding and CLTS training.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
- Access to a smartphone for communication, scheduling, and documentation.
Work Schedule
This is a flexible, part-time position.
Employees may work any day of the week (Monday through Sunday) based on client needs.
Available service hours are:
- 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
Schedules are assigned based on employee availability and participant needs.
