Summary
POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Hours: 40 hours/week
Status: School Year position
Location: South Madison - 3201 Latham Drive, Madison
The Multi-Classroom Site Director is responsible for co-directing one of Reach Dane larger sites that has multiple classrooms for ages 0 to 4K populations.
Duties
This position will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development in our 3-5 year old classrooms that are part year. The Multi-Classroom Site Director part year will follow Head Start performance standards, agency policies and procedures. This position will provide supervision and performance feedback for reporting staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Required
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development Preferred; other related degrees will be considered
- Registry Level 14
- DPI certification in ECE or ECEEN or related DPI cert. or the ability to become DPI certified is desirable
- Extensive experience in the management of Early Childhood programming
- The Multi-Site Director will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for enrolled children living in low-income, at-risk environments
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, Wisconsin Day Care Licensing requirements, Creative Curriculum, Early Childhood Accreditation, teaching competencies and curricula, parent-child relations, and family support environments
- Extensive experience in successful supervision, staff training and development, and in leadership and advocacy
- Knowledge of and experience with infant/toddler and family child care programming
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with and sensitivity to low-income and families of diverse cultures
