Are you a compassionate caregiver with a flexible schedule and a heart for service? Disability Services of the Southwest (DSSW) is looking for part-time Floaters to join our growing team! As a Floater, you’ll provide essential care to clients across your community—where and when they need it most.

What You’ll Do:

As a Floater, you’ll step in to provide personal care services to clients on an as-needed or emergency basis. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
  • Light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Assisting with mobility, exercise, and daily routines
  • Following individualized care and habilitation plans
  • Responding quickly to calls and assignments
  • Traveling to client homes and community locations as needed

What You’ll Need:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 6 months of experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • CPR certification (in-person only; online not accepted)
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clean background check as required by state law

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to client homes and community activities
  • Must meet physical demands as outlined in the Employee Physical Profile

Our services include personal attendant services, nursing and therapies, as well as assistance in home modifications, adaptive aids, job coaching and supported employment.

DSSW is licensed by the state to provide a wide range of services to persons with disabilities including Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS), Consumer Directed Services (CDS), Deaf-Blind with Multiple Disabilties (DBMD), as well as private pay care for the elderly and people with disabilities.

DSSW's programs are designed to assist persons with disabilities in achieving the greatest degree of independence possible within their community. The evaluation process by a nurse and the interview process by a program director and your independent case manager assure that an individual's needs are identified so that they can be met by the services available in each program.

All programs are driven by consumer choice and a people first philosophy.
