Director of Sales and Marketing
We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Director of Sales and Marketing to lead revenue growth, expand our market presence, and execute integrated sales and marketing initiatives across our businesses. As a key leader within the organization, this individual will oversee sales and marketing efforts, develop the team, and help translate company growth objectives and go-to-market strategies into effective execution.
The ideal candidate brings broad experience across sales and marketing, with a strong understanding of customer acquisition, demand generation, business development, brand development, and revenue growth. This role requires someone who can think strategically while staying closely connected to execution, working collaboratively with the team to move priorities and initiatives forward.
Experience working in start-ups, emerging businesses, or other fast-moving environments is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Sales and Revenue Growth: Lead the execution of sales strategies and initiatives designed to meet and exceed revenue goals. Support the continued development and optimization of sales channels, processes, funnels, pricing approaches, and market positioning as the business grows.
- Sales Channel Development and Management: Establish and develop sales and distribution channels that optimize our sales strategy and maximize return on sales dollars spend.
- Marketing and Demand Generation: Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that build awareness, generate demand, support customer acquisition, and contribute to a healthy sales pipeline across appropriate channels.
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new growth opportunities, strategic accounts, partnerships, channels, and markets. Support the sales team throughout the business-development process and participate directly in key opportunities as appropriate.
- Brand Building and Market Expansion: Strengthen brand positioning and market presence through compelling messaging, campaigns, content, and customer experiences that resonate with target audiences across different industries and markets.
- Product and Market Launches: Support the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for new products, services, and business initiatives. Coordinate positioning, messaging, sales enablement, campaigns, and launch activities to support successful market entry and adoption.
- Customer and Partner Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, prospects, partners, and other stakeholders. Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and market feedback and incorporate those insights into sales and marketing activities and recommendations.
- Strategic Leadership: Translate broader business and growth strategies into clear sales and marketing priorities, initiatives, metrics, and actions. Provide insights and recommendations that help shape future sales and marketing strategy as the organization continues to grow.
- Data-Driven Performance Management: Establish and monitor KPIs across marketing, pipeline development, sales activity, customer acquisition, conversion, and revenue. Use data and analytics to evaluate effectiveness, improve ROI, forecast performance, and adjust initiatives.
- Sales and Marketing Operations: Help strengthen CRM practices, lead-management processes, reporting, marketing automation, sales enablement, and other systems needed to efficiently support the customer journey.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets, evaluate investments based on business impact, and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
- Start-up Culture Leadership: Thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities and opportunities may evolve quickly. Bring adaptability, creativity, resourcefulness, sound judgment, and a willingness to step outside traditional functional boundaries when needed.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience across sales, marketing, business development, or related growth functions, including experience leading teams.
- Proven success in establishing distribution channels and sales teams to deliver on growth objectives. Demonstrated success executing sales and marketing strategies that contribute to revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion.
- Strong understanding of demand generation, lead generation, sales pipeline development, and the relationship between marketing activity and revenue.
- Proven ability to execute sales strategies, improve sales processes, and support teams in achieving revenue targets, with the ability to contribute to strategy development as the organization evolves.
- Strong team leadership and people-development skills, combined with a willingness to remain actively involved in the work of the department.
- Experience supporting go-to-market strategies, product or service launches, and expansion into new markets or customer segments.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using performance data to evaluate initiatives, forecast sales, allocate resources, and make informed business decisions.
- Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, analytics tools, and modern sales and marketing technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, partners, team members, and company leadership.
- Experience in a start-up, small business, high-growth company, or similarly entrepreneurial environment strongly preferred.
- Cross-industry experience and the ability to quickly learn new products, markets, customers, and business models are preferred.
